The Full Story
During my years in the high-pressure world of the emergency services I worked in a variety of locales, both urban and rural as a paramedic. What was the same everywhere I went was that both myself and others struggled to manage stress, sleep, and burnout.
Of course we were still doing our jobs and functioning, but each day was a hurdle where it felt like the future was receding, the past was increasing, opportunities were decreasing, and regrets were mounting. It may surprise you to know that it was rarely the work we did that caused this stress, but the systems and structures that we had to deal with in order to do our work.

These same issues meant that it was becoming a more frequent concern of mine that I felt I was not being best utilised in my role, I wasn't helping people to my full capacity.

Dissatisfied with this situation and seeing a genuine need in myself and my colleagues that paralleled the difficulties suffered by our patients, I sought out a way to try to help. With the aid of the UKCHH I qualified as a cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist. Not stopping there, I have undertaken further training to specifically target the issues surrounding stress, burnout, and insomnia.

Now, I use my first-hand experience of dealing with stress and insomnia in those environments and recovering from the subsequent burnout to help others find new ways to cope and identify areas for change not just in themselves, but in their circumstances. Together we work to create lasting change that we can rely on to help them reach goals that truly align with their values.

Whether our therapeutic relationship lasts for months, weeks, or just one session, I look forward to finding out how we can solve these problems together.
